Fitz Water Design provides a maintenance program that can be adjusted to the needs/wants of our customers and their water features.  The purpose of this program is to furnish the labor and materials to maintain an ecologically balanced water feature.  There are five essential parts for this to happen:   biological filtration, mechanical filtration, rocks and gravel, plants and fish, and beneficial bacteria.

A weekly maintenance visit will include the following services:

  • Cleaning skimmer net
  • Cleaning filter pads (if needed)
  • Checking pump for proper flow
  • Checking lights and replacing bulbs as needed
  • Checking automatic water fill valve for proper function
  • Adding water if no fill valve is present
  • Trimming all pond and stream plants of dead leaves, string algae, & flowers
  • Replacing any gravel or rock as needed (covering liner)
  • Applying bacteria or string algae buster as needed
  • Checking edges
  • Making a list of all material/products and plants needed for next visit

We bill our maintenance customers on a monthly basis for the month prior.  The invoice includes the maintenance labor fee plus the fee for any additional products/bacteria used during that month.  Attached to the invoice you will receive a maintenance checklist including the date and services that were provided during that month.

This program is designed for you to be able to enjoy your water feature while we do all the dirty work for you!
